This was my first session at Peavy Arboretum, and I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day—just look at those fall colors! We’d originally planned the shoot earlier, but a surprise downpour forced us to reschedule. Honestly, it turned out to be a blessing in disguise, because the new date gave us the most gorgeous autumn backdrop.

I have to tell you—Asher absolutely crushed his session. From the moment we started, he stepped in with this calm, confident energy that made my job so easy. I’ve photographed a lot of kids and teens over the years, and it never stops amazing me when seniors show up ready to have fun, follow direction, and trust the process. Asher did all of that and more.
What stood out most was how natural he was in front of the camera. Some seniors need a little time to warm up, but Asher just settled right in—whether I asked him to hold a serious expression, laugh it out, or walk through the bright fall colors at Peavy Arboretum like he owned the place. He had this great mix of being relaxed while still putting effort into each pose.
But beyond posing and direction, Asher was just a genuinely awesome person to hang out with. He was easygoing, respectful, and had such a good attitude the entire time. Sessions always run smoother when the senior brings good energy, and Asher’s made the whole experience enjoyable from start to finish.
If this is any reflection of who he is in everyday life, I have no doubt he’s going to do incredible things after graduation. It was truly a joy capturing this chapter for him.
